Resting in the shadow of the majestic Rocky Mountains, Boulder is an urban, yet outdoorsy city that offers residents the best of both worlds regarding big city amenities and spectacular natural landscape. Sprawling, green, and bustling with activity, the city is popular among young professionals, families, and retirees alike, who revel in the diverse amenities and property types available to potential homeowners.

The city experienced its first spurt of growth and development after it was chosen as the location for the University of Colorado in 1861. Since then, Boulder has enjoyed a long and colorful history before being transformed into a trendy, thriving city. Today, the local property market is dominated by spacious single-family homes interspersed with quaint low-rise apartment and condo buildings found along pretty, tree-lined streets.

Local Lifestyle

Boulder residents enjoy an active, outdoor-centric lifestyle with much of the city’s recreational activities to be found in among its stunning natural surroundings. The local community also enjoys a thriving brewery culture. Many residents can frequent the city’s most popular taprooms, which are great venues for catching up with friends or colleagues.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Boulder’s reputation as one of Colorado’s thriving urban centers means residents of the city are surrounded by a plethora of trendy restaurants, boutique shops, and lively bars and breweries to enjoy. Arguably one of the best spots in the city for hearty American cuisine, including prime steaks, burgers, and charcuterie, is the rustic Blackbelly, a farmhouse-style eatery and butcher shop that’s been serving the local community for over ten years and still draws crowds of foodies and chefs to peruse their unique meat offerings resulting from their whole-animal butchery program.

Breweries are undeniably the lifeblood of Boulder’s dining and social scene, with one of the most popular being the Finkel & Garf Brewing Co., where patrons can partake of high-quality craft beers in a colorful, relaxed taproom that’s the perfect venue for an afternoon out with friends. Another staple of the local bar scene is the Avery Brewing Co. which features an onsite tap room and restaurant serving drafts as well as elevated pub grub like brisket nachos and s’mores pies.

For a more refined dining experience, a visit to Oak on Fourteenth will check all the right boxes, offering patrons exquisite New American cuisine created using locally sourced ingredients, alongside an extensive cocktail menu.

Shoppers will enjoy a trip to Pearl Street Mall, where various popular stores can be found, including Carla Morrison Fine Jewelry, Lush Cosmetics, and Steve Madden.

Things to Do

There are plenty of fun and exciting things to do in Boulder, including visits to the acclaimed Boulder Theater, a quirky art deco music, and performing arts venue that also shows a variety of avant-garde films throughout the year. Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy a day spent in Chautauqua Park, which is part of an iconic Boulder landmark and features extensive hiking trails, onsite accommodation, as well as an auditorium and dining hall. Other park amenities include tennis courts, basketball courts, and a lovely children’s playground.

Nearby Boulder Peak’s steep slopes are often used as the challenging terrain on which several sporting events are held. The Boulder Peak Triathlon, Duathlon, and Aquabike is particularly well known as one of the longest and most challenging of their kind in the country and takes place every summer, drawing thousands of spectators and competitors to the city streets. The city is also home to the Colorado Buffaloes college football team, which often plays home games at the local Folsom Field stadium, and is a great chance to revel in some city-wide camaraderie and celebration.

The city of Boulder is served by some of Colorado’s best schools, including:
